The Mercer Vision Award
For Innovative Design & Implementation of a Human Resources Program and/or Project
Robert Chartrand
Career Advisory Panel, Industry Canada
As in many large organizations, middle managers at Industry Canada perceived a lack of management support for their career development. Robert set up a career planning service to increase the department's ability to attract, develop and maintain this key resource. The service is well-crafted, keeps the onus for their career development on the individuals seeking help, provides them with self-assessment tools, information and, perhaps most important, access to an advisory panel of three executives in areas of interest to the participant.
